Surreally
March 2019 - April 2022
With the passing of Joe's sister Julie, Joseph Demaree found himself back in his chid hood home in San Jose CA. He would move to Watsonville CA and bounce around the bay area. Completing the artworks and album Release Me. Demaree would work as an art teacher at SF High and paint two murals for Santa Clara County Fairgrounds. He would also paint a large commission and then fly to Portugal and travel through Spain and back to Portugal. Here he landed in Portugal's Algarve. While living in Armação de Pêra, Portugal Joe made new Surreal paintings. He ventured to Parallax Art Fair London 2021 where the Surrealism ran heavy. He also created his first comic book Harvey Knoon #1 and showed it at Comic Con Lisbon Portugal Dec 9-12 2021. He began the second issue and that got lost in the mail.
